VLX: Video Output Modes (Decoder Scaler)
Last Updated 2 years ago

VLX AV over IP transceivers (in decoder mode) can output video in 2 different modes:

  1. Pass through mode (default): the output resolution on the decoder will match the input resolution on the encoder. If the input exceeds 4K30 4:2:0, the stream sent to the decoder will be scaled to 4K30 4:2:0.  This scaling is not applied to the local HDMI out on the encoder.
  2. Scaled output mode: regardless of the input resolution on the, the decoder output will be scaled to a fixed 1080p (1920x1080) or 4K (3840x2160) resolution.

The output mode can be configured in the VLX setup web page on decoders, under the "Functions" tab.
